“Councils are very strapped for cash at present and often act illegally or unreasonably in trying to cut Direct Payment budgets. This happened in my daughter’s case. CASCAIDr were great in providing help and ammunition to challenge the Council. By the time I consulted CASCAIDr I had in fact already put the matter in the hands of solicitors and ultimately the threat of Judicial Review made the Council back down, but if the same situation arises again I will go straight back to CASCAIDr because I feel that had I done so last time they may well have got the Council to back down without the need for very costly legal action.
